Telephone Service
- What is basic service?
There is a mandatory service fee charge of $47.50 for basic telephone service for residence living in the Residence Halls, International House and Manville. This will reflect as a one-time charge each semester and billed to your Billing and Payment Services account, formally (CARS) account. All residents will also be assessed a $20.00 one-time semester set up fee.

Long Distance Service
What is a long distance dialing code (IAC)?
When you accepted a Housing and Dining or International House residence contract, you were assigned an INDIVIDUAL AUTHORIZATION CODE (IAC). This random seven digit number is the code you will need to make long distance calls from your residence hall phone. It also makes it possible for Residence Telephone Services to provide individual telephone statements for each resident of a dorm room, and you are held responsible for only those long distance calls you make.
