Order DSL
You can order DSL service through IST's on-line order form. Before filling out the form, please have your department chart of account string, authorized signature name, email, and telephone number and the account administrator name and email and telephone number ready.
Please be aware that if extra features (i.e. Custom Domain Registration, Primary DNS, Secondary DNS, routers) are added at the time of installation, charges will be forwarded to your department.
1MB - Main Business Line
All DSL orders must be on a non-centrex line (i.e. 642-; 643-). If needed, users can order a main business line (1 MB) through IST's Shopping Cart (click on Voice Services/Off Campus Lines/Main Business Line). Please allow additional installation time for 1MB and DSL installations.
Split Billing - For users who currently have AT&T's DSL at their home and would like to transfer billing so their departments can pay for their services. Please note "split billing" request on the comments section of the order form. Please note that the cost may change and rates for basic DSL will be $54.00 and $90.00 for enhanced. By your submission of split billing you are agreeing to the posted amounts.
If your current DSL provider is not AT&T, you will have to disconnect your DSL service with you provider before a DSL transfer can take place. Your AT&T DSL installation can take up to two business week from the cancellation date.
Once you have ordered
Once you complete the order form, and press the "submit" button, you and all email addresses on the form will receive an email confirmation of the order.
The order will then be placed with AT&T and as soon as an installation date is assigned, you will be notified. Installation can take up to four weeks depending on availability and scheduling.
The AT&T service technician will arrive some time during the appointed day and someone over the age of 18 needs to be at your home on this day. Please make sure that your computer is available to complete installation. Normal installation time seems to be about two hours and can sometimes run to three hour.
The billing for your DSL service should not show up on your residential AT&T bill. If it does, please call or e-mail us immediately so it can be corrected.
Before Installation Instructions
AT&T may also send a technician out a couple of days before the installation to check and treat your outside lines. You do not have to be there, but if you see the technician, don't worry that the installation day is incorrect. If your outside lines are behind a locked gate of a watch dog, please let us know so we can warn the technician and make arrangements.
